Back in 1990, Sudan ISD purchased their first activity buses; three Silver Eagle motorcoaches. This purchase was made to help make student travel more comfortable and avoid the high costs of chartering buses for long extracurricular trips. The three buses that were purchased were a 1979 Eagle 05, a 1983 Eagle 10, and a 1984 Eagle 10S (shown respectively below).
Then in 2002, Sudan ISD accuired fourth activity bus through consolidation with Three Way ISD (Maple, TX). This bus was a 1981 MCI MC-9 (seen right).
After prolonged use, the district decided that it was time to upgrade the 20+ year old buses. So, in 2005, they decided to sell the four older activity buses and upgrade to newer and more reliable buses. After extensive searching, they decided to purchase three used Van Hool motorcoaches; a 1997 T2140, a 1999 T2140, and a 1999 T2145 (shown respectively below). So far, these buses have taken students on trips all over the state and they are the pride of the school. |
In 2015, Sudan ISD passed a bond that allowed them update their activity bus fleet in August of 2016, which at this point was running buses that were 17-19 years old. They replaced them with three used Van Hool motorcoaches; a 2005 Van Hool C2045, a 2005 Van Hool C2045, and a 2007 Van Hool C2045 (shown respectively below).
